Cape Canaveral

About Cape Canaveral
Cape Canaveral is a cape in Brevard County, Florida, in the United States, near the center of the state's Atlantic coast. Officially Cape Kennedy from 1963 to 1973, it lies east of Merritt Island, separated from it by the Banana River. It is part of a region known as the Space Coast, and is the site of the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. Since many U.S. spacecraft have been launched from both the station and the Kennedy Space Center on adjacent Merritt Island, the two are sometimes conflated.

In 1969, Apollo 11 went from Cape Canaveral, which is in Orlando, to the movie theatre where it was faked. According to some people, landed on the moon and the bishop of Orlando at the time was a guy called Reverend William Borders, who did seem quite endearingly keen to emphasize that he was now Bishop of the Moon.

Other times Cape Canaveral came up
Wait, wait, sorry. Yeah. Just break that down a bit. Wait, what are the... Somebody thought that Furby's had so much power that they could send a rocket into space. Are we talking about a complete Cape Canaveral set up? Yes. I don't know. Furbies are all the desks. There's a Furby in it with the briefcase going on to the ship. Actually, if Ila Musk zips down his jacket, it's just fine.

I did find one space band thing. This was in 2010. It was a London synth pop band called Monarchy, and they announced that they were going to play their debut gig, their debut gig in Cape Canaveral and beam it into space. The Guardian reported on it. They said, all that all that really means is sending a signal out of the atmosphere without it being bounced back by a satellite.

I think then they went back to Barges for a while, because this was in the 60s, and it was a massive problem, because at that time they made it on the West Coast and then had to be taken to Cape Canaveral and yeah, it was just taking forever and they had to go through the Panama Canal and so far it took about days.

Look, it's a flawed system. That's why I brought it up. Oh, right. Cape Canaveral is really interesting. Do you know why it is where it is? It's obviously in Florida, on the coast of Florida, and there are two main reasons for it as positioning. One is that when rockets take off, they can sort of steal a bunch of speed from the rotation of the Earth, and the Earth rotates fastest at the equator, right?
