Knutsford in Cheshire is going to widen its pavements so that two people can walk along it, and the reason two people can't walk along it is because there was this spinster called Lady James Stanley, who in the 19th century dictated that couples shouldn't be allowed to walk along the pavements hand-in-hand, and so she funded the building of all the pavements in Knutsford and made sure that only one person at a time could walk along it.
