Muff is a village, civil parish and townland in County Donegal, Ireland. It is near the mouth of the River Foyle and sits close to the border between the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. The village of Culmore and the city of Derry are to the south in Northern Ireland.

Okay. Furry muff. Furry muff. I think it came from muffuli, which is a medieval Latin term, which describes these big leather winter to Mets that you'd wear, Muffuli. There was a great article all about the history of the word Muff. On the Oxford University Press website by Anatoly Lieberman. It's all these different words come from Muff. Danish Moth means clown. Dickens uses Muff to mean like an annoying person or a fool or whatever.
